


Making better decisions during times of uncertainty
Dr Jayne Meyer Tucker – aka DrJMT is a Social Engineer and helps humans and organisations make better decisions during times of uncertainty. Her work draws on her global experience in transformation and her PhD research exploring the systemic tension between structure (traditional frameworks) and spontaneity (dynamic frameworks). As the visionary of the ‘Balance Point’ DrJMT has created the Balance Point as a transformative philosophy to help STRADDLE uncertainty and make better decisions the E.A.S.Y Way.By creating transformative ‘Balance Points’, DrJMT works to forge connections between investment and social impact and to promote a paradigm shift from output-focused to outcome-focused responses to transformation. DrJMT has worked in Executive Board/CEO and consultancy roles with a number of not-for-profit, corporate and government agencies in Australia and internationally.
Through JMTinc, DrJMT aims to drive transformative decisions by drawing on her experience in the Australian and international not-for-profit sector to act as a relationship broker and facilitator of private–public–not-for-profit collaborations, and to work as a prac-academic and advocate for positive transformation across the ecosystem.After obtaining her masters degree in Public Health, DrJMT worked for many years in the public and not-for-profit sectors in the UK. She was directly involved in a range of national modernisation reforms across all sectors, including as a Director of Sure Start Programmes in Dover Kent, overseeing place-based programmes in disadvantaged areas to promote children’s social development, health and learning and strengthen their families and communities. Prior to returning to Australia DrJMT also worked to establish a number of wellbeing academies and create a register of GPs and Fitness Practitioners.

DrJMT has worked across the Australian not-for-profit sector in Executive Board/CEO and advisory roles, most recently Champion of Volunteer Family Connect a community based structured social relationship care package that reduces social isolation by both face 2 face and virtual support through utilising volunteers
Current Board roles include Royal Society of Arts – Oceania; The Australian Transformation and Turnaround Association; NSW Nursing and Midwifery Council. Advisory roles include the Centre for Social Impact Advisory Group and member of RiseSmart Platinum Executive Advisory Network.
Previous roes include having served as a member of the The Growth Project; National Child Health Community Council, the Impact Investing Australia Outcomes Advisory Group and the NSW Health Professional Council Lay Members panel, among others.
In 2015, as former CEO of Good Beginnings Australia DrJMT successfully merged Good Beginnings Australia with Save The Children Australia and has been a strong advocate for streamlining the not-for-profit sector to make the best use of available funding. In 2017 DrJMT obtained her PhD from Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University. She also holds post graduate qualifications in Training and Development, Organisational Development and Executive Coaching.

DrJMT’s particular interest is in keeping Australia the lucky country and sharing this at a global level – most importantly through alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Having dual citizenship DrJMT was born in Australia as a first generation Australian. From 1990 DrJMT lived in the UK for nearly two decades and worked within health/social care government and modernisation reforms. DrJMT has worked in Executive/Board/CEO and freelance roles with a number of NGO’s, corporates’ and government agencies in Australia and internationally.

The free Balance Point eBook – may be pretty (but its writing is still very gritty) and therefore being socialised rather than launched. Constructive feedback is welcomed to assist DrJMT, to advance the emergent learning process of helping human and organisations to make better decisions in times of uncertainty.
Dr JMT is committed to helping organisations navigate such change; building cultures of engagement and partnerships between public, private and not-for-profit sectors. The 3 algorithms of Balance point assist with C/Suite and Board level decision-making relationships during times of uncertainty to do good while doing good.
